New year, new opportunities. That is how the new year looks to us. At the same time, we can note that 2018 was a really successful year for SawInfo, generating great interest and many successful deals in which SISS, our sales support system, stands out and has won many new customers for us.
“There has been a great deal of interest in these systems. We currently have 20 customers who have signed contracts with us, and we will help them introduce one or more parts of SawInfo in the near future,” says Anders Marklund, DataPolarna managing director.
Anders says that two years ago the company already began seeing indications that many companies were beginning to review their business systems. Customers gave DataPolarna signals that we should invest more on developing products in this area.
“We felt that there was speculation in the industry about this and that we were in a good position to further develop our systems in this area. In the past year we have allocated additional resources and hired more staff to work on developing both SISS and SIPlan. We started on a rather small scale and turned mainly to smaller companies, but now we have come so far that we also are able to satisfy the demands of large companies and groups that have more plants and more complex work flows.”
The categories DataPolarna is now working with are sawmills, planing mills/wood processing companies, trading companies, companies involved in subcontract processing and combinations of these different categories.
“We currently are working on enabling our systems to meet the needs of all these categories, which we feel very good about. And as always, we are very responsive to comments and ideas of our customers, which may involve further development of new, valuable features, to improve the efficiency of our customers’ everyday lives,” Anders explains.
As noted, we currently are strengthening and redirecting resources so that we can develop SISS and be able to more quickly respond to the increased interest in this area.
